Jamie & Brian

Stuffed with turkey and pumpkin pie Karen and I made the trip up to Fond du Lac for Jamie & Brian's wedding. The weather may have turned cold but this church was packed with the warmth of close friends and family. Brian's family is incredibly gifted in the music department and the service was filled with their personal touches. Even Brian himself offered a serenade to his new wife. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.
When I first met Jamie many months ago I knew she would be a gorgeous bride... but that turned out to be an understatement. She was absolutely stunning, and her personality is just icing on the cake. Brian certainly has hit the jackpot.
Their reception took place in the beautiful, historic Ramada Plaza Hotel. The architecture in this place was just breathtaking. I thanked Jamie for choosing such an exquisite location. To which Jamie replied... if you see any neat corners or areas you want to do some more photos in just let us know. Big mistake! She couldn't have melted my heart anymore then if she'd delivered that message with a bouquet of flowers attached:) This hotel was just screaming to be photographed.. and we definitely made the most of our options. Jamie & Brian thanks again for indulging my quirkiness. I was such a pleasure spending the day with you and your families.

Who knew my competition these days would be so young?

After lighting their unity candle Brian sang "Grow Old Along with Me" to his stunned bride.

Jamie's reaction to the surprise. Thanks to Beth for cluing me in on the surprise:)

One question I frequently get asked during meetings with newly engaged couples is whether or not I work with an assistant. My answer... sometimes. I work great alone. I can set up a scene much faster then I can verbalize what I want done to an assistant... it's become second nature. However there are benefits to a second shooter. When I'm working with an especially large bridal party or I know going into the wedding day that we have a time crunch I will usually bring along a second shooter. Beyond the expected advantages to an assistant there is also the benefit of a second shooters unique point of view. Below is my take on the location...

Here's Karen's.... I love how she placed the focus on their shadows.

Another shot from my perspective....

If you have already booked our studio for your 2008 wedding and would like to guarantee there is a second photographer for your day give me a call. I'd be happy to explain the pricing difference and advantages.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope your all enjoying some quality time with friends and family, appreciating all that you have in your lives to be thankful for. My mother-in-law said something today that was just so eloquently put. She said, "I may not be living a rich life but I am certainly living a very blessed life." I couldn't have put it better myself. I am so very blessed to have such a wise woman in my life:) I am blessed with wonderful family, supportive friends and a truly adorable husband. I am so lucky to do what I truly enjoy... taking photographs and somehow call that work! I hope that you find many, many more reasons to be thankful for your own blessings. And on that serious note I am going to leave you with something a bit silly.... Check out this animation I made of myself hard at work. You have to admit there is definitely a resemblance there! Check out this website http://www.meez.com/ and make your own.... but be warned... it's addicting!

Kristen & Kasey

What a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple! There was just a slight nip of coldness in the fall air... not nearly enough to keep this group inside. Karen and I had so much fun with Kristen & Kasey's entire wedding party. The best part about this couple... they don't take life too seriously. They were all about having fun and getting a little crazy. We loved the props they pulled out when we stopped for photos after the ceremony. Really, how can you not enjoy yourself when your wearing a boa and top hat?!

My apologies for the short recap of the day. This is about the 10th time I've attemped this post so my computer anxiety level is rising and my writing skills are suffering. Kristen and Kasey... LOVE you guys! Thanks again for allowing Karen and I to be a part of your day. We had a blast.

See what I mean about getting a little crazy! Love the props.

Such romantics... I just loved shooting their first dance. It was as if they were the only two people in the room.

New Orleans!!!

Just a quick note to say I will be out of the office for a few days. Aaron and I decided to take advantage of some last minute fares and head down to New Orleans for the weekend. Between his band schedule and my weddings we are long overdue for some good quality alone time! I apologize for any delay in correspondence either through email or the phone but I will get back to you as soon as we return next Wednesday. In the meantime I'm hoping to be sampling some Gumbo! Have a great weekend:)

Jennifer & Phil

Saturday October 27th I had the pleasure of spending the day with Jennifer & Phil. Both Jennifer & Phil attended my high school so photographing their wedding was kind of like attending a high school reunion. It was a treat to see so many familiar faces from what my high school days. The day was a bit chilly with a biting wind that was blowing through.. but I honestly don't think these two even noticed. They are long time sweethearts, so their anticipation for this big day seemed to warm them all over. From the moment they first saw each other there was a warm flush that filled their cheeks and a relaxation that was obvious from head to toe. Jennifer & Phil it was a pleasure celebrating with you and your families. Thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day.

Jennifer's grandmother wore this locket on her wedding day. She explained to me that the images inside were of her and her late husband. She was kind enough to do some hand modeling for me.... I just love this photo:)

Now just like any child of the 80's music craze, I love me some Footloose... but even I have never seen a group tear up the floor to that particular song like this group did!

Okay, Okay... I agree, I'm totally not ready for Christmas Carols and snow storms either. Calling all movie buffs....

Do you love a night out at the movies? Is Netflix the best piece of mail you could receive in your mailbox? Then I would love to talk to you!

As many of you may or may not already know... my brother and brother in law have been working hard on an independent film for over a year now. "Illegal Use of Joe Zopp" is rapidly nearing completion. As the production crew work to finalize the film for submission to a string of national film festivals they are showing a handful of pre-screenings. The purpose of these screenings is to get feedback from people, like you, about the film. Sound interesting?!?! There will be a screening for "Illegal Use of Joe Zopp" in Madison on Saturday November 10th. The screening will take place at 3:30 in the afternoon... so if you have tickets to the Badger game, no worries. The screening will take approximately 3 hours. (2 hours to view the movie and then one hour to complete a questionnaire and offer your feedback on the film) Although the screening will seat 150+ people the seats still available are limited. If your interested in attending email me and I will send you all the details you'll need to know. jenniferandersen@angelicangles.com

Can't make the screening?!? You can find out more about the film by visiting this site.....
