Tracy & Todd Snowed in....

A lot of people I meet completely under estimate the amount of time I spend alone each day. Somehow the title of PHOTOGRAPHER sounds so glamorous. I like to think that's true :) but quite honestly on the days when my office staff is off the only interaction I have is with the UPS driver and my cats! During the winter months this is especially true as the snow covered roads just don't seem to scream "let's schedule a photo shoot!" So Kudos to Tracy & Todd for thinking outside the box. I met this adorable couple at Tracy's parents home, the exact spot where their ceremony will take place this summer.

As we trudged through the deep snow of their beautifully wooded acreage Tracy ever so sweetly apologized for asking me to wear my snow shoes and trudge to the ends of the earth for their photos. I guess I was cursing under my breath a bit more loudly then I thought! No seriously though... she couldn't have possibly understood how wonderful it was to be out shooting again. This was my first session since taking my medical leave and it felt exhilarating to be out on assignment again... not to mention the fact that the location they choose was gorgeous.
Tracy & Todd thank you for braving the cold with me on Friday. I can't wait to come back this summer for your beautiful backyard wedding!

Engagements

It seems hard to believe that we are only a week away from Christmas now! I finally feel like I am on top of all my holiday orders and can actually take a moment to stop by the blog. On the down side now I REALLY need to start my own Christmas shopping:) Anyway, my apologies for the lack of blog posts lately... there just haven't been enough hours in the day.
It was an incredible fall and my busiest holiday of orders to date... so thank you for that. However, with the busy schedule there are a ton of sessions from this fall that I never got a chance to blog. One of my off season projects this year will be to update the website with loads of new images. In the meantime though I thought I would share with you some of the beautiful newly engaged couples who will be marrying in 2008.
Be sure to stop by the blog again soon... I will be posting a contest in the next day or two that I need your help with. As I work to update the website I want to get your votes for which images should be added to the main page of the site. Christmas Deadline

Just a quick note to all my wonderful customers... there is still time to place your orders for Christmas gifts. If you are still in need of reprints, enlargements or even Christmas cards please contact me to get your order started. I will be accepting orders until midnight Monday December 10th. Any orders placed before the 11th will be guaranteed to be completed in time for gift giving.
Not sure what to give this year?!?! A gift certificate is always a great option. Gift certificates can be made in any denomination you choose. They are redeemable for products or for services. What a week....

WOW! To say that this week was crazy would be a major understatement. The past couple of weeks have been absolutely nuts. With school starting next week I have been photographing seniors from sun up til sun down. If you've sent me an email recently my apologies for the delay. Most nights I haven't gotten home long before 9:00 and then I have just enough time for dinner and backing up all my images files before starting things all over again. Luckily the weather is finally starting cooperate with us so that we can get back outside.
On top of the craziness of my work shooting schedule recently one of our cars decided to die on us. Poor Aaron has had to hike to and from the dealerships as well as riding his bike in to work. That's a good hour bike ride! Nothing like feeling guilty about hogging the one working vehicle:) So I thought it would be a nice gesture to pick my sweetie up from work Tuesday night rather then making him bike home. Wouldn't you know the second he was in the car and we were heading home we popped a tire! When it rains, it pours....
Anyway... now you know the fun I've been having this past week. Lucky for me I know a good car shop:) My sincere apologies to all my anxious customers who have called or emailed. I think at this point I've finally responded back to everyone, thanks for your patience. Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorites from the recent weeks.

Genella & Eric

There are some first meetings you walk out of with this feeling like you just clicked. That's how it was for me on my very first meeting with Genella and her sister. They were both so spunky and excited about planning this wedding that their enthusiasm was completely contagious. Unfortunately with Genella planning her wedding from Arizona I assumed this would be one of those rare weddings where I wouldn't even meet the groom until the wedding day... so I was pleasantly surprised when Genella told me she would be in town for a few days this past weekend. Not at all surprising... Eric is just as wonderful as she is, a perfect balance. I am so looking forward to their Overture wedding this September.

Megan & Aaron

I met Megan & Aaron bright and early Monday to do their engagement photos. Of course at the time I didn't realize that Megan had just the night before concluded her dance season with the annual recital. Megan owns her very own dance studio in the Monroe area. Needless to say they were both a bit exhausted... but such troopers. Maybe it was the lack of sleep but these two were adorably giddy and so much fun. Can't wait for the wedding!

Laura & Mike

Yesterday I had an engagement shoot with the gorgeous Laura & Mike. Really these two are about as good looking as they come and yet at the same time so very relaxed. I just started proofing the session and already I'm thinking we should refer Laura to Colgate... such a pretty smile. Here are just a few of my favorites so far. Can't wait for the wedding this fall!
