Amy & Nick

There are some venues I'm lucky enough to photograph at that I think.. yeah, I could be happy photographing only weddings at this location for months on end. Lake Windsor Country Club is one of those unique venues. The staff is incredible, the location beautiful and no matter the date or season.. they always seem to have the sweetest couples getting married there. Amy & Nick are certainly no exception. There is a confident, comfortable love shared by these two.. the kind of love that has seen it's  ups & it's downs and traversed them all. Nine years together will do that for a relationship. Yet when their eyes met for the first time on their wedding day.. it was as if their love were 3 months young.. a giddy anticipation to close that small gap between and end up wrapped in each others arms.
Amy & Nick I'm thrilled that our paths crossed and I was able to witness your love first hand. Congratulations again on a most beautiful day.. and best wishes always!

I had to steal Amy away briefly in the hotel lobby.. the light was so pretty.

Seriously could not have asked for a more perfect sky to close out our photos for the day!

What was the most memorable part of your day?

Nick- The moment that was most memorable for me was the first moment I saw Amy in her wedding dress.  She saw me and started to cry, I remember her looking the most beautiful I have ever seen her.

Amy- Getting to Lake Windsor, seeing everything set up and realizing this day had finally come. Also, seeing Nick and no longer being able to hold in my emotions.

What is your funniest memory from your wedding day?

Nick-  When the officiant called my wife Amus.

Amy- When the officiant called me Amus.

Any advice you’d share for future couples getting married?

Nick- It’s not going to go perfect, but that is ok.  It’s wonderful being surrounded by people you love and sharing the moments.

Amy-  Don't stress out too much and remain calm. Take time to enjoy the day.

Would you change anything about your day if you could?

Amy/Nick-Nothing.  As far as we were concerned, it was perfect!

Kristin & Bryan - Married!

I hold a special place in my heart for high school sweethearts. Perhaps it's because I married one myself, or maybe it's just the beautiful ideal you see portrayed in movies.... young love, first love, the kind that lasts a lifetime. No matter the reason Kristin & Bryan were the visual equivalent of my ideal. A couple young and so very much in love.. and yet when you are in their presence you feel as if they've been together forever. A married couple celebrating their 10th anniversary.. finishing each others thoughts and sentences. I can only imagine that by their actual 10th anniversary they'll be able to communicate with just a stolen glance and silent smile. A love to last the ages.
Congratulations Kristin & Bryan. You are both so kind, thoughtful and beautiful (inside & out). It was my distinct pleasure to share in your special day. All the best!

Although I never push my couples one way or another when it comes to doing a first look.. I have to say I'm definitely a sucker for these photo ops.

It was a warm day so we took shelter from the sun and heat.. and got some of my favorite images of the day.

Rob's angle... FAVORITE!

Love you two!

The light at the end of the day was just magnificent.

What was the most memorable part of your day?

Bryan: When I saw Kristin in her dress and walking down the aisle toward me.
Kristin: The first look that Bryan got of me in my dress. I walked down the stairs to him standing at the bottom. I was nervous, excited and anxious. When he turned around and his face lit up, the rest of the world disappeared for a few minutes. It was a perfect moment. – Kristin

What is your funniest memory from your wedding day?

Kristin: In the morning, my hair stylist arrived at 6:30am to begin her set-up. All of the girls were up and ready to get pampered at 7am. The condo we were staying at has two levels, so the girls were upstairs and the boys were forced to stay downstairs. Bryan’s an early riser and that early in the morning, only one other groomsman was at the condo and awake. Poor Bryan was without any food, water and car keys to exit the condo! He was yelling up to the girls all morning making conversation and asking to have food delivered to the basement of the condo.

Any advice you’d share for future couples getting married?

Kristin & Bryan: Don’t stress over the wedding pieces and happenings that cannot be controlled. Wedding day is one of the greatest days of your life, but at the end of the day, you are still marrying the person you love and starting your life together. Finally, enjoy it… it flies by!

Would you change anything about your day if you could?

Kristin &  Bryan: Make it last a little longer! Nothing really, it was perfect.

5 words to describe your bride: Breathtaking, passionate, intelligent, hilarious, hero

5 words to describe your groom: Charming, funny, loving, persistent, handsome

Who were your Vendors?

Florist – Wild Apple Florist
Cake Baker – Kalahari Resort
DJ or Band – Juke Box Band Stand
Reception Site – Trappers Turn Golf Club
Ceremony Site – Trappers Turn Golf Club

Any great vendor experiences to share?

Trappers Turn Golf Club (in conjunction with the Kalahari Resort) has a fantastic venue sight. The amount of work and knowledge that they have about making this day special for each and every wedding that they host is impeccable. Typically on Sundays, they hold brunch until 2pm. With our wedding set to begin at 4, they had a quick turn around time and they did it and made everything wonderful!

We’ve only received one of our wedding photos and we are already being asked who did our photos for the wedding! I highly recommend Angelic Angles. The lighting was bright and Jennifer managed to find beautiful places to photograph without trouble! We cannot wait to see all of the photos!

As an overall note, I have to say that all of our vendors were absolutely fantastic! I went into my wedding planning with the mindset that the professionals know best. They do this on a daily basis, where I am doing this for the first time! I told my florist what flowers I liked and a general vibe that we were going for and said “I trust you to make this perfect!” She loved having the freedom to be creative with the project. Additionally, my hair stylist did the same! Putting the trust in the vendors that know best is a great way to get a unique wedding that turns out great!

We got questions on almost all of our vendors! When people want to know who provided the beautiful objects and services, you know they did a great job!

Danielle & Josh- married!

A dropdead gorgeous couple, stunning bridesmaids, firefighters... let me say that one again... firefighters ;), a gorgeous venue, beautiful flowers. When I reported back to my staff about Danielle & Josh's wedding these were just some of the highlights I shared with them. But you know what? The thing that makes photographing a wedding enjoyable isn't the attention to details, or the fact that the couple is picture perfect. It's witnessing a connection between two people.. a connection that makes you believe even more strongly in LOVE. Danielle and Josh share this connection. It was a privilege to witness their stolen glances, the soft touch of his hand on her lower back, the gentle way she reached out for his support stepping in to the fire trucks. What a treat to witness their deep respect and love for one another... may you two always carry that with you.

Much love!

Danielle got each of the girls a custom hanger.. so cool

Danielle you're adorable...

but also stunningly beautiful!

and not to be out done....

connection.  even before the ceremony... so beautiful to witness

Danielle – When the church doors first opened and seeing Josh at the altar waiting for me.

What is your funniest memory from your wedding day?
It wasn’t funny at the time, but right before it was time to walk down the aisle I went to the bathroom and my bridesmaids helped me with my dress and we managed to get a pink lip gloss stain on the middle of my dress.  Luckily we were able to pin my dress over the top of the stain.  We can laugh about it now!

Any advice you’d share for future couples getting married?

Would you change anything about your day if you could?
In all honesty we wouldn't change anything about our wedding day.  Although it rained all morning and there were lots of strong storms that evening we've been told rain on your wedding day brings good luck.J
