Lisa & John

I just love spring weddings! There's a crispness to the air and with all the beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom it's as if you can feel the love in the air. Lisa & John's wedding was certainly no exception. From the moment I arrived there was just something light and bubbly floating all around. John's sense of humor lightened things off right from the start when he sent his best man over to recite a piece specially written for his bride. Your immediate response is probably "awww... I'm sure that brought tears to her eyes." Well you would be right, but not the tears you image... think Letterman Top 10- the top 10 reasons Lisa said yes to John. It was hysterical! The vibe just continued from there all day long. Such a fantastic, fun loving couple! Lisa & John thank you for inviting me to be a part of your celebration. It was truly an honor.

Shana & Brian

Everyone knows it's a definite foupaux to wear white to a wedding... there's that dangerous line you could cross of upstaging the bridal party. When you see the photos of Shana & Brian you would likely think.. white dress or not, no one is going to upstage this couple... they are gorgeous. But upstaged they were and I can honestly say they wouldn't have had it any other way! Lennon wasn't even 9 months old when his mom & dad got married.. but he was definitely the life of the party. With mom's beautiful brown eyes and dad's handsome smile he's hard to resist.

On the way to the reception in the Dells the wedding party stopped for a quick drink at a small out of the way bar. When we pulled up and I spied an abandoned building next door it was all I could do not to BEG Shana to skip the drink and grab a few more photos with me. Luckily Shana & Brian were up for anything.... and we got some awesome shots as a result!

Thanks again Shana & Brian for putting all your trust in my spontaneous ideas. It was a real pleasure working with you and your families... and especially little Lennon.

A smile in my inbox :)

I love surprises... those unexpected gifts, flowers, notes or gestures that can instantly turn your mood around. When I read my email yesterday I found I had a smile sitting there just waiting in my inbox. As my wedding clients already know I like to send out a "welcome package" to all of my couples will some helpful planning information. One part of this package is a tote bag to put all of your wedding planning in one location. One of my brides - Paige wrote me yesterday to thank me for the delivery and attached this image of her cat Willow already putting the tote to good use! Thanks Paige for putting a smile on my face... you couldn't have timed that better if you tried:) And of course.. my thanks goes out to Willow as well.

Molly & Evan

Molly & Evan.. I don't even know where to begin with this couple. There are simply too many sweet things to say about them for one small post. We first met in the fall of 2006 to do their engagement photos. At the time there wasn't even a wedding date set yet. It feels as though Molly and I are old friends... having been a part of things from the very beginning. I know Molly is an avid blog reader too so I'm sure the wait for this post has been unbearable.

To say that this wedding party had a lot of energy would be a huge understatement.... they were crazy!!! And I loved them for it. We got so many amazing shots. There was so much craziness going on though that I would seriously have to caption each photo for those of you not in attendance to even understand what you were looking at! It was just a wild party... even the animals were in attendance. ;) My good friend Mike assisted me and grabbed some great shots as well. With his background in fashion/glamour photography he brought a really cool new perspective to things.

Molly & Evan thanks for your patience with this post.. or at least for pretending to be patient :) I hope you enjoy your sneak peek. Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of your day... I was truly honored!

The skies were such a beautiful blue!

I just love this next series of images.. so sweet. Favorite!

Mike grabbed this tender moment.....

Molly & Evan had a fabulous candy bar at the reception and I couldn't resist playing a bit with their rings. :)

Blog Tag

Okay... so there's this thing going around the blog community of photographers called blog tag. The idea is to post 10 tidbits about yourself on your blog and then tag a new set of photographers to continue the cycle. I am long overdue in posting this as I was tagged a couple of weeks ago.

So here are 10 tidbits you may, or may not know about me:

1. I hate all things banana - although I can make an except for a good Pina Colada!

2. I am definitely not a morning person.

3. I LOVE movies.. you name it.. I've probably seen it.

4. I met my husband Aaron in high school - yes, we are high school sweethearts :)

5. I am very proud of my ancestry. My father immigrated to the United States from Switzerland a little over 30 years ago. If you've never been you should definitely check out this amazing country!

6. If you pull up next to me at a stoplight you're very likely to catch me singing along to the radio

7. My favorite food is green salads.. call me dorky, there are just some many variations.. I never get bored.

8. I LOOOOVEEEEE to travel. My parents definitely got me hooked at a young age. Although I've done a good deal of traveling internationally there are so many places I still have left on my list.... can you guess how I feel about destination weddings?!?

9. I have an obsession with orchids, I buy a new one every 6 months or so....

10. My favorite ice cream flavor is Pistachio.

Michelle & Eric

If there ever were such a phrase as sweet, sweet love.. then Michelle & Eric are the very definition. Really... you might even find yourself worrying over a toothache just being in their presence... that's how crazy sweet they are together!

From our very first meeting I could see that these two were head over heals. At the time, only newly engaged they were already finishing each other's sentences and exchanging knowing glances. So when they sent each other gifts and cards prior to the wedding, it came as no surprise that their words and gifts would produce tears of joy. When you know your partner as well as Michelle & Eric know each other it's inevitable that your words will strike a chord. Playing witness to this level of love and commitment makes me so happy. I feel so lucky to record these incredible moments. Much love Michelle & Eric... hope you had a wonderful honeymoon!

I just love these next two images.. Michelle looks so at peace. No stress or nerves, only a quiet moment while getting ready.

Michelle & Eric opted to see each other prior to the ceremony. Not only did this allow us some additional time for photos but it also gave me the opportunity to capture some great shots of their first meeting.

A New City.....

When it comes to my life and priorities there really is nothing that I rank more important then family. After all these are the people who are always by my side during the good and the bad.... they are the very first phone call when I have some amazing news to share and my very last prayer each night before bed. None of this will change tomorrow but my prayers & calls will have a bit farther to travel. Today my baby brother left for his new home in California. I say baby brother with a bit of sarcasm... although it's true I am a few years older he is definitely several inches taller!

I am so excited for Andre' but sad as well. Certainly not sad for him... I know he will succeed at each and every one of his dreams. I'm simply sad over the new distance between us. It just won't be the same tailgating at a Brewer game if he's not there. Or drinking green dragons and singing Karaoke... okay, other people are singing, we're just laughing:) But I know that this will be a new and exciting chapter in his life and I can't wait to see what new memories become of it. He'll probably kill me for posting these photos but that's one nice thing about the distance.... retaliation is a bit more complicated! Before he left we spent some time in the studio taking a few head shots for his auditions. Here are the many faces of Andre' -

**On a separate note many of you have asked for an update on my father-in-law Joe. After a few adjustments with the dates of the transplant he is now in the hospital and receiving his preliminary rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. At the end of next week the actual transplant will take place. Once again I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts... they are more appreciated then I could ever put into words. I will do my best to keep you updated on his progress.
