Availability......

There are some days that drag by. Where every hour seems like an eternity. And there are some days that fly by in the blink of an eye. And then there are the days that are so far off in the distance that it feels as though they will never arrive. Those special dates which only seem possible because of that little red X on your calendar, months and months in the future.

Tomorrow the little red X I've been so patiently awaiting finally arrives.
We've cashed in our frequent flyer miles, and my bags are nearly packed. I can't believe I actually made it through this week! You know those days that fly by?? Well that was my week... I was certain there was no way I would ever finish editing all of my sessions before boarding our flight. But after being chained to my computer for 10 days straight there they are, all edited posted and ready for the world to see. Unfortunately in order to complete that goal I did things a little out of order. I normally do the blog posts for each wedding before the gallery goes live. I made a guess though that my couples would much prefer to see all their photos now if given the choice. So blog readers... I LOVE ya! But your going to have to wait for those posts after I return.

I have so many wonderful posts to share with you... 2 beautiful wedding couples and some newborn pics of my newest nephew Tristan who finally made his appearance on just yesterday. Congratulations again Lia & Tibor!!!! And of course I will have oodles of stories and photos to share with you from our vacation. The trip of a lifetime... or at least that's what I like to call it :) We will be in Thailand for 18 days of adventure, excitement and relaxation. We are even spending 3 days at an elephant refuge working with the animals! I am so excited... if you couldn't tell!

If you wish to schedule a portrait session feel free to email or call during my absence. I will have limited access to email but I will get back to you as soon as I can. Reprint orders placed on the website or via email will all be forwarded on to Jamie back at the office. Your orders will be processed as usual without delay. And because a post without photos is oh so boring... I will leave you with two photos of the beautiful wedding couples I photographed in January.

The oh so sweet Melinda & Aaron....

Hiroko & Josh

If your anything like me you've spent your fair share of time at the local Starbucks. On a cold day there's nothing like securing a corner of the coffeeshop with the newspaper and a warm cup of coffee, or in my case... chai. Your own little oasis in the midst of an otherwise busy street, city... life. The quiet solitude you experience while surrounded by others is so refreshing, a perfect way to recharge.
Hiroko also found the quiet corners of Starbucks to be a welcomed retreat, and so it was not surprising to find her tucked away many an afternoon in one of the Starbucks of metropolitan Japan. A quiet afternoon, pouring over her literature... that is until Josh walked in. His intention was never to interrupt Hiroko's solitude, but as he sipped his latte he couldn't keep his eyes on his book. Every few moments his eyes would wander up the lines of his novel and dart across the spans of tables that separated his with Hirokos, just a quick glance to confirm she was still there. After rereading the same page of his book for the tenth time, it was obvious to Josh that he would not be able to continue his day until he walked that spans of tables and at least attempted a conversation with this beautiful woman. A conversation in broken English and bits of Japanese, turned into another round of lattes and another. Although they had set down their individual novels their conversation continued over hot drinks and a book.. only this time it was a love story that was being written with the help of a little book known as the English-Japanese dictionary.
Josh & Hiroko thank you so much for trusting your father's choice for a photographer across the miles that separately you from your wedding plans. It was truly a pleasure meeting you and your families! Much love - Jennifer

I love this photo... it's not unusual for me to snap quite a few getting ready photos with the bride and makeup. In this case though Hiroko is the one doing the makeup! She was just so relaxed....

Hiroko's father making some last minute notes before his speech... notice they are in english and japanese.

Notes or not, dad still needed a little translation help from Josh during the speech. I love the effort both familes put into messing their unique cultures. Favorite!

For part of the reception Josh & Hiroko changed into traditional Kimonos.

Kathryn & David

When Katie & Dave first met it was beneath the umbrella of their friends Molly & Greg's wedding plans. Katie & Dave each played their respective role of bridesmaid and groomsmen through the many festivities that surround a wedding... bridal showers, bachelor outings and so on. Their commitment was to the overall happiness of Molly & Greg. So for each event they put on their biggest smiles and mingled with guests as the two families became intertwined. After several gatherings a friendship emerged.. and Katie found herself looking forward to the next event where she would be entertained by David's whitty humor.

Then the big day arrived, Molly & Greg were united in marriage. It was a day filled with laughter and tears as emotions ran high. And somewhere between dinner and the chicken dance Dave found his own emotions were running wild. As he glanced in Katie's direction across the dance floor he knew he was falling hard for this beautiful bridesmaid with the winning smile. Dave partied hard that night, not wanting the evening or Katie's company to come to an end. Some might argue that his evening never did come to an end... When Dave arrived to the gift opening the following day he was still wearing his tuxedo from the night before and the added accessory of a colorful sombrero! There were many cameras firing that day.. capturing Dave's arrival in colorful form. David though was oblivious to the flashes of light, something much more important was on his mind. As David said himself when he spoke to the grooms' parents.... "I think I'm in love with a bridesmaid. "

Congratulations again Katie & David. It was such a pleasure working with you and your friends/family. I hope you enjoy your long overdue sneak peek.

The flowers were beautiful!
